Orchestra Conductor. Producer. Educator. Innovator.

For more than thirty years, my work as a conductor and producer has been rooted in the belief that empowering artists to trust their own voice is a radical act, especially in traditionally hierarchical spaces like orchestras. I design rehearsals as collaborative spaces where students contribute to the artistic direction, learning that their perspectives are not only valid but essential. This approach challenges the status quo of top-down instruction and redefines what artistic leadership can look like.

By prioritizing individual expression within a collective setting, my work cultivates independent thinkers, empathetic collaborators, and confident creators. These are traits that extend far beyond music. In a world that exceedingly rewards conformity, I teach young artists that mastery includes both understanding the rules and knowing when and how to break them. This practice fosters creative courage, dismantles outdated norms, and positions the next generation to participate in and reshape the broader cultural conversation.

Art should not only reflect our humanity, but expand it. By creating space for authentic expression and shared authorship, my work helps students realize their power to contribute meaningfully to culture, their communities, and the world.
